Disneyland – The most magical place on earth. Oh my goodness I was tearing up seeing how excited my little miss was just walking onto the Disney train with Mickey mouse shaped windows to take us into Disneyland (ok at 19 weeks pregnant emotions are running high hehe). We had told her that we were going to see Mickey and Minnie’s home but we weren’t quite sure how much she understood.
Our first stop was the “it’s a small world” ride, we didn’t have to wait in the line at all, it was a hot but rainy day so it wasn’t all that busy. Watching her little eyes light up at all of the colours was just the best thing and that 5 minute ride was completely worth the cost of the tickets- everything after it was just a bonus!
After a ride on the tea cups (I skipped this…lets not make morning sickness any worse than it needs to be) we had a little lunch in the rain – although the rain was very welcome because when the sun came out in between showers it was so so hot. Madelina ended up having a little nap in her pram so during this time Daddy went on the big kid scary rides while I stayed with the pram.
We set off to find the Characters for her to say hello- Because it was raining they weren’t out and about and the parade had been cancelled. We first found Goofy and Pluto, we weren’t quite sure how she would go meeting the characters because they are quite big but she ran over open armed with a huge smile on her face saying “hello Goofy!, Hello Pluto”.
Then the big ticket characters Mickey and Minnie! it was the excitement for goofy and Pluto X 10 When we got to the front of the line to meet Mickey “It’s Mickey Mummy, It’s Mickey!” she said as she turned back from her cuddle with him.
While we were waiting in the line for Minnie, Minnie walked away from her photo spot for a little while- all of us parents were a little concerned that she had knocked off for the day but Madelina looked and me and quite confidently said “She will be back mummy, She needs to go wee wee toot toot” hehe so cute!
We didn’t buy anything from the gift shop but my Dad & his partner was with us and bought Madelina a beautiful Minnie plush toy, a Disney towel and some pink Minnie ears to remember her trip! So cute- So Spoilt!
Disneyland Hong Kong was really a wonderful day and I highly recommend it if you have little one(s) and are visiting.
The things I would do differently for next time are:
Bring a back pack instead of a baby bag – The pram was great but we often had to park it and load all of our stuff on to us including holding miss 2 while we waited for things- a back pack would have just been a little easier.
I wish we got the 2 day pass and/or maybe even thought about staying there- it is a huge day of walking and we got there relatively late and left early because we were all pooped and we didn’t get through a lot of the attractions and didn’t make it to see the fireworks, Me being pregnant and my Dad being… well lets just say over 65..probably played a lot into us being so tired but it would be perfect to just cruise around for a few days and totally worth it to be able to pop up to your room for a lay down/ nap time if needed. ( I love a good kip)
I’m glad we went during non peak season and on a rainy day.. I can see just how busy the lines get for the rides with how long the ropes are for them, most line up areas are air-conditioned…Amazing! – for kiddie rides we never waited more than 5 minutes and my husband got to the front of a lot of rides really quick being a single passenger.
Thanks Disneyland I’m sure we will be back!
