So apparently it has been 3 and a half months since little Harvey came into the world and the time is approaching for me to return into the studio. Luckily I don’t have to travel too far as my studio is in my home & Harvey will be in the next room should he really need me. While I have been off Phil and I have been working away to have the salon feeling super fresh and new & i’m so excited to finally show it to you!
We are in the process of painting our whole home this amazing colour (lexicon quarter from Dulux) and the studio was the next room on the list- It really opens up the space and gives it such a crisp and fresh feel.
I’ve kept the salon stations & wash basin that I had previously because I still absolutely love them so I worked around them as the theme for the studio.
For those of you that have been into my salon you would remember the tiny little nail table that I had squished in the back corner, Nail furniture was a bit of an after thought in the previous setup as Nails are a service that I only introduced after the studio was first put together nearly 5 years ago. I now have an allocated nail desk and space which is going to make things feel a lot less crammed in.
I’m still waiting on some frames and prints to arrive to add that final finishing touch. I’ve picked out some of my favourite Hair & makeup work and some floral prints and I will update this post once they arrive and are up on the wall.
I am only taking on a limited number of bookings while I settle into working again and balancing work and Mum life so if you wish to book in please get in contact sooner rather than later to avoid missing out.
New service menu & pricing coming soon.
Shop the look:
The black Salon Chairs, stations and basin are from my previous look and was purchased 5 years ago from a salon furniture supplier- I’m not sure where that was now- they were based in Adelaide.
The black and glass shelves which I am so in love with were an absolute bargain from Ikea at $89.00
the nail desk is a combination of the Alex drawers from Ikea and the desk top and legs are also from the ikea desk bar range.
The black and white antique chairs we picked up years ago at an antique store in Grenfell, they were really old and brown with blue fabric when we purchased them in a table and chair setting. Phil sanded and painted them and we replaced the cushions and the fabric- they came up so well. During one of my mad clean outs I sold the table and chairs but did keep the butcher chairs- something that I sadly regret doing now. But it was slowly getting ruined by having little ones so i decided it needed to go somewhere where it would be appreciated more.
I get asked about the flowers so much, they are from a beautiful little faux flower store called Sea Holly.
The clock is from Kmart- One of my favourite places for decorative knick knacks! Although because it is black arms in a black frame it is actually really hard to tell the time with this one- but hey it looks good!
